I’ve been through this at a corporate level. Everyone good (who can get a good/great) job will leave and be double dipping for a while. Everyone else will stay. We the citizens will be stuck with the remnants.

Yeah. I get it. Feels like that was what Twitter “was” before it became x. And my comment was more pointed to meta. They care about monetization above all. And threads suffers cause of what you mention. Twitter may do it to limit msm and actual journalism. All my opinion with some industry exp.

Consider that a click into content takes you out of the platform. The result is less engagement and therefore fewer ad dollars.
