What are you doing in your church to combat biblical illiteracy, especially among young people? Our Answers in Genesis ministry has lots of resources to help.

There has been such an emphasis in many churches on entertainment and shallow Bible teaching, and a lack of teaching Genesis, or leaders have been teaching Genesis but compromising it with evolution/millions of years.

Yes, this generation of young people in many of our churches is biblically illiterate!

I once met a lady at a church who shared how dismayed she was to find out that when she spoke to teenagers in church, they didn’t know about the covenant of the rainbow in Genesis 9. They thought the rainbow was just associated with the LGBTQ movement.
June 5, 2025 at 7:07 PM
So this special meaning of the rainbow goes back about 4,300 years—just after the flood of Noah’s day. And, of course, that symbol has now been hijacked and perverted! The LGBTQ have taken the rainbow and redefined it’s meaning, changed it, etc.

In Genesis chapter 9, God made a covenant with Noah’s family, their descendants, and the animals. God promised he would never judge the world again with a global flood. He said that whenever a rainbow appeared, it would be a reminder of that covenant.

This has happened with marriage, man’s dominion, gender, work, and so on. And it’s also happened with the rainbow. God created everything and thus defines everything. Man who rebels against God takes what God created and defines and redefines it.

Those who oppose say it’s an intolerant position, as they allow all views. But they don’t allow the view that there is only one view—the biblical one.

Yes, those who claim they are tolerant are usually the most intolerant of all.

They claim we should allow all views, but they don’t allow the view there is only one marriage—a man and a woman! That’s the biblical view.
May 6, 2025 at 12:42 PM
But I find that those who call Christians “intolerant” are really the ones who are intolerant, as they don’t want Christians to have the freedom to express their biblical views.
May 6, 2025 at 12:42 PM
You see, Christians who stand on God’s Word will authoritatively speak against gay “marriage,” but they should not be intolerant of the people who disagree with them.
May 6, 2025 at 12:42 PM
Secularists often accuse Christians who, for example, take a stand on marriage being one man for one woman based on the Bible, as being intolerant. But in fact, Christians are the ones who are tolerant of others.

“Unwilling to grant equal freedom of expression especially in religious matters; unwilling to grant or share social, political, or professional rights.”

But their religion is an empty, hopeless one based on blind faith that is not credible and not supported by observational science—they need Christ and the free gift of eternal life he offers!

The evolutionary worldview is a foundation for their set of beliefs about life and how it arose, just as the biblical creation worldview, as described in Genesis, is our (Christian) set of beliefs about how life arose. Atheists blindly hold to evolution because of their rejection of Christ.
April 28, 2025 at 1:07 PM
Despite their claims to the contrary, atheists use evolutionary ideas as their religion to replace God.
April 28, 2025 at 1:07 PM
They are committed to this religion based on naturalism which requires some sort of evolutionary belief to try to attempt to explain life without the supernatural.
April 28, 2025 at 1:07 PM
I find atheistic evolutionists do not want any talk of “critiquing” or “thinking critically” about evolutionary ideas because evolution is their way of explaining life without God—it’s their religion they adhere to.

But we need to look after the creation (having dominion), but use it for man’s good and God’s glory.

So we can boldly proclaim that humans aren’t going to destroy themselves or destroy the earth because God is in complete control, and he will determine when the ultimate catastrophic climate change will occur.
