If Eric Adams doesn't get a pardon from the felon president for five federal indictments on trading his influence for lavish perks, maybe he can appeal to the Supreme Court's experts on government corruption.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

Lathe-turned eggs of Box Elder (aka Manitoba Maple) wood. These are cranked out quickly as practice exercises to keep my chops up. With a tool finish, no sanding. If all goes well, and I have the blanks ready at hand, I can do a dozen in about 1 1/4 hours.

Just in time for the frigid cold snap! 100% Ash wood, seasoned for a few months so it gives a hot fire. From my Amish neighbor's sawmill, off a 7 ft. x 14 ft. wagon with 1 ft. tall sides. Piled a bit over the sides, so it's a bit over 2 face cords of unstacked chunks, all for $45!

My first serious attempt at colorizing a turning. A maple trumpet vase with fungal staining, not as visually appealing as spalting. So I dug out my Prismacolor markers to see if I could brighten it up some, using the natural lines as borders.

My first post! Here's a Box Elder Trumpet Vase whose featureless grain makes it a good candidate for colorizing.
