Unfortunately, it's relevant and needs to be pointed out. I'm already seeing the islamaphobia pouring from the ignorant and unscrupulous over this attack. Islamaphobes would be more than willing to tar this hero with the same brush as the shooters and call for his deportation just the same.

And yes, "YOWIE POWER" was the slogan they used,which is quite amusing looking back on it. But yeah, they are based on the mythical Yowie, which is an ape-like creature from aboriginal folk law. So its all just an amusingly unfortunate coincidence.

Yowies were quite neat, they were kind of like a kinder surprise, but the toy inside was a buildabe little model of an animal and it'd come with a little slip of info about the animal. So they were educational and got aussie kids like me interested in wildlife, that's "YOWIE POWER" for you.

It's crazy work how these people try to coopt the Straw Hat Pirate imagrry while behaving like the very villains that Luffy beats up. Be it with a complete corruption and perversion of justice, or a completely self-serving and oppressive expression of "freedom".

Good call to not give them the time of day anymore, this isn't just a matter of "crossed boundaries", you can't just "well now I know and won't do it again" your way out of that. The fact that they considered it cool and normal behaviour in the first place is a problem.

For real. Outside of very specific circumstances for very specific reasons, it's a good rule to NEVER blame the developers for a game's low quality. It's almost always a leadership problem, or a producer/executive/business douche problem.

I think this kind of thing is the basis of Hanlon's Razor: "don't attribute to malice what can be easily be explained by ignorance/stupidity". Often times, things perpetuated due to ignorance can be harmful and inconsiderate. So this is how ignorance and malice get conflated.
