Rock lover & sci-fi geek, lost in my microscope.

All enemies, foreign and domestic.

Feel free to save any image I post, they make great backgrounds & screensavers. You don't have my permission to monetize them.
Behold the Great Pigeomodeous. The fiery pigeon of doom who heralds the coming of woe. In the form of you're going to need to wash your windshield.

No, it's ok. It's just a cool bit of moss in a piece of San Carlos banded tube agate.

Probably wouldn't hurt to clean your windshield though.

Time for another shot from my all time favorite rock I've ever had under the microscope.

Not so much with Solo: A Star Wars Story either. That and Rise are the only 2 I didn't see on opening day. TBH, Last Jedi didn't really do it for me either. I thought Force Awakens left a lot of potential on the table to be worked with, but it got put in a doggie bag and someone else ate it.

Turritella agate I polished. Please excuse the scratches, I had bought cheap pads. Only did 2 pieces with them.
Inside the whorls are the fossilized carapaces of Ostracods, common name Seed Shrimp.
Max magnification 780 X.

If it weren't for a good middle aged obsessive hobby I'd go mad. I polish rocks and take pics of them under a microscope. It's a place I can shut out the bad for a while and concentrate on beauty.

I probably should oughta start posting the pics I take again.

It's what was left on a prepaid debit, hence the weird amount.

Found an erratic on the beach today. A banded agate has no business on a beach in southern Florida. Crowley Ridge would be my guess. Came down the Mississippi and out into the Gulf or some other big flood type event millions of years ago.

Happy Gotcha Day to Ambassador Birdie the Bold. 3 years ago today a tiny little kitten jumped on me in at the Humane Society. That's how the cat distribution system works. And since her favorite thing is belly rubs, she decided the best option was to grow a large one. Outcome: A success!! 😁

Gosh I just absolutely love this waterline agate I pulled today. Might just wind up being my favorite in this whole lot.

Trying to distract myself, cut up some agates today. Love this pair.

2 rocks from my cleanout this morning. The black one won't need much longer at all and I'm so glad it's keeping the dark colorations. The other one will be going for a while longer. I may take it to the grinder next week and do a bit more shaping where those divots are.

The 2nd half of this did not like to photograph. Used the flash and got a clearer shot, but it altered the colors. I'll be sure to put up pics of it when it's done. 😀

The quartz vein in the first half of this pair has just a hint of fortification banding around it.

Another both halves of the same rock. It has spots. Red spots. I love them. And then really pretty pastel swirls. Also love!!❤️

This one might be tricky. There's a pocket of clear chalcedony that might decide to depart. But I love the brecciation on it so much.
