Dystopian speculative fiction seems prophetic, but it’s really just a commentary on the times. We create the future here in the present. What will we create?

I’ve seen lots of cyber trucks, but I’ve never seen a driver. I assume they all look like this?

It’s bleak right now. I feel like the field is flooded with distractions, and I wonder what’s really going on.

I made the mistake of signing up for something called "David Attenborough Fans" on FB, based on the suggestion of a friend.

OMG-worst AI generated nonsense! I blocked it. Now I get "Friends of David Attenborough," "David Attenborough's World," etc.

I keep blocking. The AI pages keep coming.

Twitter was also an echo chamber, just with two different groups of people shouting, rather than one. And I’ll take the ones who aren’t vomiting ill will and nonsense, TYVM.

Have some social time at the end with the same toys. Or have a rotation of toys that you can put together. Today is dinosaurs and trains, another is wooden blocks and silk flowers, and another is legos and safari animals. All age-appropriate, of course. And get down on your knees and play with them!

Never underestimate the power of a box of scarves! “Popcorn Kernels” is by far the most popular chant/fingerplay. They love to get the motions down and synchronize themselves to the song.

The younger your crew, the more comforting it is to have the same songs and routines. Babies and toddlers get comfortable with repetition. Preschoolers appreciate a surprise or two but love to chime in when they know the routine.

Jbrary is a great resource to get you started with songs and props.

Have a routine; same start and end songs. Get comfortable with movement and organized chaos Make sure to include grown-ups as models, rather than having them sit out on their phones.

We will be divided and fractured even more if we decline to provide specific and nuanced critique of sources of information and just resort to generic lines that add nothing to the conversation.
