People always tell introverts to be more talkative and leave their comfort zones, yet no one tells extroverts to shut up and make the zone comfortable

We did a show the other day speculating on Canada as the 51st state. Don Tapscott has now set the terms. Worth reading: fortune.com/2025/01/08/t... #51stState
I'm a Canadian listening to Trump. Let's talk about 'the 51st state'
If the U.S. President-elect is serious about a merger with Canada, here are some things to consider.

Opinion: Jean Chrétien: Canadians will never give up the best country in the world to join the U.S.

Very sad that we only have a few short days before cheese and wine will officially contain calories again. Genuinely aggrieved.

a valid reflection. It reminds me of the critique around technology in general. We were promised it would free up our time for art, but instead ai is making art and we still have to do the dishes and laundry #PhilSci #WomenInSTEM
I worry that relying on AI in science will take away the things I love most about my work (thinking, problem solving, writing) and make us more just little lever pullers.

I know this is bitchy but my husband has Covid, a virus he swears doesn’t exist and the vaccine for which is poison.
I don’t have Covid and I can only credit the 9 “poisonous”vaccinations I’ve had to date.

Today in Churchland is the 1st day of Advent. Not Christmas, that doesn’t start until Dec. 25 and ends January 6 (12 days of …). When the world’s trees are at the curb and drab of winter descends, we are still Christmasing right into January. I think that is just civilized. Thoughts?

It was the first snowfall of the season here today, probably the latest it’s been in decades. And so begins another winter.
