The Husbands was pretty good, but I felt it had so much potential it didn’t quite live up to. It asks the question ‘What if you could swap out your partner an unlimited number of times until you found the perfect person. Would you ever be satisfied?’

Society of Lies is a gripping thriller about the death of two Princeton students years apart and how they relate to a secret society at the school. I tore through it. If you like a good thriller, then this book might be for you.

I just started reading Nobody Asked For This. I read her first book and liked it so I picked this one up the day it came out. I might go to the author event tonight at Type Books on Queen Street if I can muster up the energy. Is anyone else in Toronto going?

I listened to a third Rachel Hawkins book. This one is set on an isolated island in the South Pacific.

I’ve never watched a Shondaland show before, but I’m quite enjoying The Residence so far (I’m on episode 4). It is a quirky whodunnit with a great cast and a lot of humour. It is worth a watch if you have Netflix.

This book might be a little too scary to listen to at night so I’ll have to listen to it while I cook and exercise. I hear they are turning it into a movie with Adam Scott, so I’d like to finish it, but I’m a real wuss when it comes to scary books/movies.

I enjoyed Rachel Hawkins’ The Villa so I’ve started listening to The Wife Upstairs while I fall asleep at night and it is equally gripping so far.

I’m rereading this gem of a book. #Wilco is my favourite band and Jeff Tweedy sure knows how to write a song. This book proves that his writing talents go beyond songwriting. This #book goes into depth about his childhood, meeting Jay, his punk rock influences, his bands, addiction issues, family…

I read books about the craft of writing when I get writer’s block and it makes me excited to write again. These are some of my favourites. I hope it helps you, too.

I’m late to the party, but Colin From Accounts is such a good show. The first season is available of CBC Gem. It is the story of an unlikely pairing and the dog that brought them together.

Finally checking in for my first BlueSky #5amwritersclub session. Let me introduce my writing partners.

I’m listening to a new audiobook while I fall asleep at night. The Villa by Rachel Hawkins is about two writer friends who go on vacation together in Italy and stay at a villa with a dark history.
