Today is World Down Syndrome Day, and Donald Trump and the Republican Party are celebrating it with a landmark move to defund special education. GOP advocacy for persons with Down syndrome can't cease at birth, as their education is no less important than children living without a disability.

This is the best route for me, but I avoid this at all costs, which means taking Harbor Drive around the other side of the airport.
P.S.: That merge is barely safe for vehicles, and my car has decent speed and torque.

The only thing missing is her going The Office style and shouting “open your mouth!” as she prepares to spit.😂

What a fantastic way to close out Black History Month. Thanks to the SD Black Chamber and SD Biz Journal for an evening celebrating Black leadership in San Diego, and thanks to my wife and the team at Mister A’s for the post-event surprises. Friends, family, and community love — my heart is full.

Attended my local Democratic club meeting today, and for all the jokes about local political clubs, it was a great time. There was no doom and gloom, simply an analytical look back to see how we can best move forward. It’s time to get up off the mat!

How safe is San Diego? Two dozen eggs were delivered and they were still there when we returned home.

Happy Birthday Rosa Parks (1913-2005)!🎉 I'm grateful for the life I live due to brave American patriots like Mrs. Parks. Today we celebrate Black History Month with the 1998 poem "Rosa" by Rita Dove (1952-), a Pulitzer Prize winning author and the first Black Poet Laureate of the United States.

Maybe Trump actually meant Colombia.🤷🏾‍♂️😂

In Matthew 25:34-40, Jesus says what we do for the least among us we do for him. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his life fighting for striking Memphis sanitation workers. As we reflect on Dr. King’s life ask yourself: are you for the garbageman or the oppressor? #MLKDay

Historical note for MAGA, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, and Donald Trump: shortly after Republican Richard Nixon was elected to his second term, Harry Truman (a Democrat) passed away. President Nixon ordered a 30 day mourning period, resulting in flags being flown half-staff at his own inauguration.

Thankful for being able to celebrate five generations with my mom, grandmother, wife, siblings, nieces, nephews, and their children. From our family to yours, Merry Christmas!🎅🏾🤶🏻🎄

Hello Leap! It was a 5.5 hour flight delay, but good to finally see you again. Christmas in Sacramento — let’s go!

San Diego County Supervisor, Chairwoman Nora Vargas, announced she’s stepping down and not taking the oath for her second term. It’s a sad day for democracy when the board chair of America’s 5th largest county is forced to resign due to personal safety reasons.

Going to need @brodericksmylie.com to take an Ancestry DNA test, because based on his profile, I legit think we may be related. Hello fam!

Based on the behavior of @latimes.com owner Patrick Soon-Shiong, I’m done giving him my money. I pre-paid an annual subscription, but unless he backs off, when it expires next year I’m dueces✌🏾

It's 11:30p, and although it's over an hour past our bedtime, my wife and I couldn't sleep until we could cite the "Twelve Days of Christmas" lyrics using only pictures, but no internet. We were stuck on "ten lords a-leaping" with Angela describing it as ten dudes skipping. GenX weeknights 😂

This Thanksgiving week I’m grateful for my father-in-law, who is now 87. Since my dad passed away six years ago, he’s made a conscious effort to be more connected with me. I love having a man like him in my life, and can’t wait to cook dinners and golf with him this week in Florida.

Marisa G. Franco has a must-read book called Platonic. One of the topics covered is non-sexual romantic love, and how/why we’ve come to devalue and move away from that form of deep, intimate friendships.

Adam Mosseri has always been the wrong leader for Threads, as he never understood/embraced what migrating Twitter users wanted.

Congratulations to Hakeem Jeffries on being re-elected House Democratic leader. Over a year ago, my wife and I committed to helping Democrats take back the House and making Leader @hakeemjeffries.bsky.social speaker. Let's make it happen in 2026, the work begins now!
