Because of that, I am forced to pay tariffs (which I already eat that cost, and haven’t upped my prices like I probably should have). So no….im not going to just give you a keychain unless the idea is mine first!

Moral of the story, art markets are NOT flea markets. They are not yard sales. They are not a place to haggle. My stuff takes a long time to design and make. I outsource my stuff FROM OVER SEAS (because there are no domestic companies with the same quality).

I tell him, no. And then his wife tells him that they aren’t even sure what other characters the girl likes, and decides to just go with just Nami.

Regardless, he says something like “well, I don’t want you to be out $10.” And then PROCEEDS TO ASK ME IF HE GAVE ME $2 IF I WOULD GIVE HIM A 3RD KEYCHAIN!!!!!

I tell him, politely, “no, I can’t do that because I would be losing out on $10.” I don’t do well in weird situation and confrontations. Looking back I should have explained to him the actually process it takes to get these keychains made, and why they are priced what they are.

Now, some clarification, my keychains are $12 each or 2 for $20. The man decides he wants to get two (Nami and Luffy). He THEN proceeds to ask me if I would do 3 for $20!

He calls a guy, maybe the child’s father???? Not sure, and clarifies that the girl likes Nami, but he is unsure if there are any other characters that she likes. So the guy standing at my booth says he will get Nami.

I was at my market yesterday and a family comes up to my booth. The guy (maybe mid to late 40s) is looking at my keychains and decides he wants to get one for his child (maybe niece) that isn’t currently there.
