The wordmarks are set in Nithya Ranjana, an open source font for Ranjana script created by Ek Type in Collab with Callijatra.

Lucknow got selected as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, which I believe is well deserved. It is a city that made me realize how amazing mutton dishes can be. Photos from the last visit a few weeks ago.
Making Tunday Kababs at Tunday Kababi, Aminabad Preparing Chicken Masala using roasted chicken while Shami Kebabs wait on the side at a regular shop we visit. Mutter Tikki (with lemon) at Royal Cafe and Basket Chaat in the background. Ande ka Halwa. A sweet made with eggs as the main ingredient but not even hinting at it.

Buddha had been dead for 450 years, and no one knew what he looked like. Now, as in the minds of these newly converted Greco- Romans and Asians the Buddha was half a philosopher, half a god, they have invented a Buddha-image that is, in fact, half a Greek wandering philosopher, half a handsome god. For many centuries they could not even decide whether he had a moustache, or not, and there exist many Buddha-images with a moustache. Later, the moustache disappears. On the other hand almost all Buddha-images show him with curly or with wavy hair, which is strange, as he must have been clean shaven for he had cut off his hair. Many images give him a protuberance on the top of his head (ushnisha), very long earlobes, and a "radiance" on the forehead (urna); a few show a web between his fingers. It is this image, invented in Gandhara, that is accepted in Mathura (one of the satrapies of the Kushana emperors) and then spread rapidly to the rest of India, but with fewer and fewer Hellenistic features. By the first century A.D. similar Buddha-images are made in South-India too (Amravati, Nagarjunakonda). It must be emphasized that all these images are pure invention, and in no way likenesses. By the 6th century A.D., the first attempts are made to show the Buddha with some jewellery; in the 7th and 8th century, many Buddhas appear with necklaces, crowns, ear-rings, armlets and bracelets. It was my first time attending the India international coffee festival and I must say it was pretty well organised. I got to meet some folks in the industry and watch the national barista cup finals. Fun Saturday!
The National Brewers Cup stage at the india international coffee festival at bangalore at an elevated level and underneath a colourful overhanging covering to limit the heat on stage. The stage has 2 tables setup with a presenter brewer talking to judges on the right side table. National Fine Cup award winners for the year 2024 being showcased at the Coffee Board of India stall. Ashray from Rosette Coffee brewing some competition reserve coffee for the crowd using a v60 pourover setup. Notes of Litchi and Rose. Yum. Jaseem abbas, one of the finalists of the National Barista Championship showcasing his espresso course to the judges. Jaseem had represented India at the Internationals last year in Busan.
