A rare and extremely interesting first-hand account of the fighting on the WW2 Eastern front from a German panzer officer. Any sympathy for the hardships endured by the Wehrmacht soldiers disappears when considering the treatment of the Russian civilians, forces and local Jewish population.

Bit of a niche book, but absolutely fascinating. The process of selecting Presidential candidates at the party conventions back then was bonkers and I wonder if it’s true today?

I have held off reading this for a long time. It is the 41st and final Discworld book by the late, great Terry Pratchett. Very sad there will be no more in the series, very pleased to have read them. “Mind how you go Terry …”

Every year on Memorial Day, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring.

They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died.

France also gave us this land as American soil.
