Absolutely first class! What a fabulous concert it turned out to be! I know these works backwards but suddenly they were new again. Riveting! And now at Conway Hall limbering up for Opus 131 from the Fibonacci Quartet.

Meanwhile, I've been asked who does the Finale of Bruckner 6 best. I've listened to quite a few, of those Sawallisch comes out best, Mena, Celibidache and Klemperer also up among the good ones.

I don't know the date. I think I bought it in The Gramophone Exchange, Wardour Street - so it could be half a century old. I'll see if I can find out...

Not quite the first recording, Christian. I had this LP. Copied to CD, original went to Dalston Oxfam a year or two ago.
