I don't imagine Volvo had a checklist for potential buyers that includes a promise not to be used to demolish state symbols. The complany on the other hand... knowingly took the contract to do so.

I gotta say, watching this all from Canada I can't believe your country is just rolling over like this. I can't even imagine what would happen if a politician up here posted a video of themselves as a king, sh*tting on their subjects...

Long answer - because they don't care about the individual liberties of the downtrodden, only the people they can relate to (wealthy, rural, conservative). Oh, and they don't give a fuck about the constitution anyway.

Totally. Obama's instincts to 'reach across the aisle' assumed a willingness on the part of Repbulicans to cooperate which wasn't there in reality. They opted for the low road, and I guess they won.

Remember back when someone proposed that politicians should wear sponsor logos, like nascar drivers do? It was supposed to be a joke...but it seems apt. The infiltration of wealth into politics is anti-democratic at its core.

I mean, we ALL knew MTG was an inside trader. How there is no SCC action against all these politicians is beyond me. It stinks to high heaven of corruption at the top.
