The Reds set a new record of 60 home games without defeat today in 1980, beating Villa 2-1, with a brace from Kenny, a run which was extended to 63 games. Bizarrely that record was beaten by Liverpool on the very same day in 2020 with a 3-0 win v Leicester making it 64, a run which ended at 68.
