I am also not comparing the personalities but the administrations and policies. The issue with Trump is not who he is but what he is doing to the US and the world order, Starmer on the other hand is trying to play world leader and failing when his primary focus should the UK.

He has cut benefits to the disabled, so as Trump. He is cutting university research funding so is Trump, he is cutting civil servants with spurious productivity assumptions so as Trump, he has reduced overseas aid budget so as Trump….shall I go on?
April 19, 2025 at 10:18 PM
Explain why if you can?
April 19, 2025 at 7:58 PM
Strange assumption, the choice is not binary, there are at least two other parties and the next four years could throw up other candidates and that’s before the assumption that Starmer will still be in the mix and has not stepped down or pushed out.

Your ridiculous is someone else’s reality, maybe give some thought before you wade in with just four word comments.
April 19, 2025 at 6:59 PM
I think we are already there, much of Starmers policies mirror albeit slightly tweaked those of Trump. Productivity and cost cutting of the civil service, welfare cuts, university research cuts and also a proposed immigration policy now of third country hubs.

The worrying thing about Trumps presidency is that a recent poll which shows falling approval rates, there seems to be a hardcore of 40% in favour of Trump no matter what he does. Meaning there is only a marginal 10% either way to being acceptable or not.

Where has trump been all his life, surely he knows Putin and Russia want to end America’s dominance, unless of course………

Some even have meetings about setting the agenda for the meeting.

I have been caring for my wife with MS for 35 years and never received or qualified for any state payments. Now with the state pension is now classified as a ‘benefit’ never will. Nor do I qualify for any other benefits as the pension and PIP is not a gateway ‘benefit’.
April 18, 2025 at 10:27 AM
The problem with PIP is that it has been rolled with the perception that it’s a for life payment particularly for treatable conditions. Unlike the original benefit DLA which had the appellation of ‘for life’ with progressive or lifelong conditions, and ‘mental illness’ was not even in the mix.

I better get a move on with experiments with folding time and distance so we can pop over and visit K2-18b.
April 18, 2025 at 10:13 AM
My wife after 35 years of MS is now in the final progressive stage, she can barely make to the loo, let alone a job, meanwhile 850,000 18-24 year olds are not working, should that not be the priority, just getting 20% in work would sort the budget issues.

Most pollsters ask their questions in such a way it confirms the narrative they want to promote or are paid to promote.
April 17, 2025 at 1:11 PM
Labour have a massive Westminster majority, they could literally give the right wing media the ‘finger’ and move forward with a UK/EU Swiss style deal although I suspect the EU itself could be problematic with a prompt and equitable deal.
April 17, 2025 at 1:08 PM
Aliens arrive on earth, then say “take to your leader”. Trump would prove there is no intelligent life on Earth, they would not get a straight answer out of Putin, China would copy all their technology and sell in back to them cheaper, and the EU would run around like headless chickens.

The Americans would be the only winner in trade deal, they would rip us apart, the NHS is ripe for the picking as is our agricultural sector.
April 17, 2025 at 9:18 AM
Every European country and others had colonies so why is Britain any worst or better, the Empire is now long gone, instead of wasting energy disseminating the past we need to pay more attention to current events as they will be our undoing.

Shameless and open corruption among Trumps inner circle, no wonder they want to cripple the IRS and FBI.
