Since education is being left to the states, and red states like them dumb, underprivileged red state kids will never see the inside of a university. They’ll be lucky to not fail out of community college if they happen to graduate hs. What a self own. Sucks for the kids, they didn’t ask for this.

I’ve unfortunately never been because I was brainwashed as a kid to think it was a shithole. Left at 18, exercised a little critical thinking skills, deprogrammed, and now I’m the black sheep of the family. I hope to visit Chicago some day.

Live as close to Chicago as possible if you move there. The rest of Illinois is Trumpistan. I grew up close to St. Louis and Springfield, IL. It’s not pleasant.

Makes me proud to be born and raised in IL for a change, although I’m from the “rest” of Illinois that is dumb enough to think they’re better off without Chicago. They don’t know how lucky they are to have you protecting them from themselves. They don’t deserve you.

Great anecdote. Forgiving these people and legitimizing them is a slap in the face to all those marginalized people and groups who have been made to suffer for the last decade. I bet I can guess which demographic you belong to.

I would tell them they better find or create of coalition of people in their same position and put in some work on their own. We’ve been trying to protect them from themselves for long enough. No space for people who were giddy to make such a “mistake” when only those they hated were being harmed.

A mistake they were giddy at the time to make because he was hurting all the people they hate, which includes you for being to the left of far right on the political spectrum. They can create their own coalition if they really give a damn. Too little too late.

I took this stand in 2015 before he was even elected the first time. I knew you had to lack any bit of concern or care for others by supporting 🍊🍄🍆. No time or space for people like that, ever.

My friend’s husband who has a federal job lost his retention bonus today. The higher ups, of course, did not lose theirs.
