And that's basically how it works! Hope this thread was clear enough, I'll talk about each current host and the effect the stone has on them in a little while :)

Same thing happens to Sakuma, Genda, Fudou and Kazemaru, but on a lesser scale because they were exposed way less than any of the Aliea kids. This way, they suffer from headaches and don't feel well, but it doesn't incapacitate them like what happens to the married couple.

On another note: Remember that Midorikawa and Kiyama felt sick when they arrived to the island? That's because they are past hosts and, even after all these years, the influence of the stone remains. The stone can't take over their minds because they rejected it before, but it can cause pain.

It's possible to fight the infection, but it's an extremely difficult task that requires an extraordinarily strong mind. The stone can cause hallucinations that feed off of the host's own memories and feelings, which it uses to break their mind and get them to submit to the stone's control.

With this, hosts will feel compelled to infect unaffected individuals and do everything they can to protect the core of its being (a large body of crystals that acts as the mother brain, to put it like that). Hosts turn into a twisted version of themselves with their worst qualities taking over.

The most dangerous effect of the stone is what it does to the mind. It's objective is purely to grow larger, and larger, so it takes over the host's mind. The host will remain conscious, but their will will be twisted to benefit the stone, making them into a source of infection.

Some of the initial symptoms of infection include feelings of paranoia, anxiety and increased emotional reactions. After a few days, the host will see their physical abilities increased, unable to control their new force, and they'll turn more aggressive and violent. Crystal growth will soon start.

Infection happens when even just a small shard of the crystal enters a persons body. Most common way of transmission is by cuts, but consumption of microscopic shards is also a posible danger. Once it's found a host, it grows.

As you've been able to see, Tsunami is infected by the Aliea stone, but what does this imply?

This is the same stone from s2, but it works a little different in my AU. Here, it acts like a parasite, in the sense that it not only grants the host a physical advantage, but also affects their mind.

sometimes, 🦊 is awake when 🐈‍⬛ has her nightmares and panic attacks at night, and they smile a little at the fact that her mind still tries to resist... they laugh a bit and find these little episodes endearing, sometimes missing the old problematic 🐈‍⬛ who tried to fight back only to put her in place
