It is time to put a disruptor in HHS, someone who is going find solutions to increase access and reduce the cost of health care by addressing the chronic disease burden and working to improve our vital federal health programs. I had the opportunity to discuss several critical issues with the nominee, including Medicaid and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) reform, as well as the urgent need to restore trust in public health agencies through radical transparency and accountability. During the pandemic, public health officials too often prioritized polling data and political pressure over science and data. It's time to rebuild these agencies to regain public trust, and I was pleased to hear RFK commit to empowering our world-class scientists and researchers to restore the gold standard of medical and scientific research that once defined America.
