Another wonderful book club at a correctional facility this week. I fear with the disbanding of the Pres Committee on the Arts and Humanities, cuts to humanities programs will follow, resulting in the abolishment of these types of programs. Rehabilitation requires connection and a sense of value.

I finished my syllabi just in time! School starts back next week and I'm excited to meet new students, reconnect with past students, and make a small but important pinky toe print on their lives.

Dec 20 has always been a "no Christmas allowed day" because of my youngest son's birthday. He's an adult now, and still, no Xmas. His wife took him to a hockey game, and I babysat the toddler (and we Christmas-ed hard while they were gone-shhh).

I have litter box, litter, food, cat bed, cat tree, toys, bowls, water fountain. I've prepared my furniture, cat-proofed the house, arranged a secure environment for intro into my world...But still no cat. I think I spent less time preparing the nursery for my first child. #cats #rescue
