Former politician. Former television director of news programming. Grandma, mom, wife. Taking a break for a bit.
Ken was quiet and thoughtful — a gentle giant , the author of multiple books, including the iconic The Game. He was a terrific interview.

My condolences go out to Ken’s wife Lynda, his family, and all who loved him. ♥️

Ken was, as PM Carney says, Big Canada. 🇨🇦

He was true to his family’s compassionate roots. His parents, Murray and Margaret, started and ran Sleeping Children Around the World, a charity that provided bed rolls for needy children. As Social Development Minister, Ken negotiated child care agreements with every province in 2005.

Oh, I am sad to see the news about Ken Dryden’s passing.

Ken was a hero to so many Canadians. He was a hockey legend, a best-selling author, a lawyer, a broadcaster and sports executive, a political leader — really, a gentleman and a scholar.

Just a quick reminder that today is Burger to Beat MS day at A&W Restaurants in Canada, when you can buy a Teen Burger™ to help support the fight against Multiple Sclerosis.

Canada has the highest rate of MS in the world, with 1 in 400 Canadians living with the disease.

There’s room to sit down and enjoy a café au lait with friends — there’s a lovely atmosphere in the shop.
You can find Le Marché Parisien on Nine Mile Drive at Larry Uteck, right near Morris East Pizza.

I can confirm the tarte was as good as it looks — raspberry is my favourite— and I have no doubt the other treats will be too!
They also sell beautiful locally baked French-style breads, as well as French cheeses and many other products from France.

Ooh-là-là! Yesterday, prompted by a post by MP @BraedonClark, I popped in to Le Marché Parisien, a new boulangerie/café/épicerie in Bedford.
The owners were gracious as I practiced my (extremely) rusty French to order raspberry tarts, a chocolate roll and some fruit danishes. (More)

Health Canada has issued a recall for certain “baby nests” — and is warning parents to “stop using immediately.”
You can find the story over at C T V, or the government recall at: recalls-rappels.canada.ca/en/alert-rec...

With *much respect* to former president Barack Obama, but he’s dead wrong, and I feel strongly enough to post my disagreement.
Ketchup — particularly ketchup made from lucious Canadian tomatoes 🍅 — belongs on all kinds of things. Like hot dogs 🌭. And meatloaf. And toasted western 🥪 sandwiches.

This is the weirdest letter I’ve seen in some time, & I’ve seen some doozies.

Do they think that we started these wildfires on purpose? Do they think we can control them? Do they understand how wildfires work? (1/4)

Just heard that former MP, cabinet minister and former astronaut Marc Garneau has passed away after a brief illness.
He was only 76 years old.
I remember he had so much time for students — who were always curious about his time as our first Cdn in space.
Marc was a gracious, thoughtful person,

If you were collecting stamps at the Superstore for their line of pots — they have WOKS in again at last. I zipped in this morning to the Bedford location to get one. While quantities last.

At MM Mall in Dartmouth today, I noticed NS Public Health running a Measles vaccination clinic there. Nearly every chair was full.

Two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻 to NS Health, NS Public Health, the folks staffing the clinic — they’ve been going flat out — and the Nova Scotians getting their vaccinations…

(2) Our articulate and thoughtful Sean Fraser is Canada’s new minister of Justice and Attorney General and I know he will do us proud!

And my friend Anita Anand is our new Foreign Affairs Minister. She may represent an Ontario riding, but she’s a daughter of Nova Scotia!
Congrats!
