Subsequent iteration of the system map after the workshop - drawing on existing evidence - helped to expand the list of action ideas to more than 75 potential interventions, to be explored and prioritised in the government food strategy development process. 10/
March 28, 2025 at 7:21 PM
Participants then used this draft systems map to identify potential interventions that they felt could be delivered to build on perceived strengths and address identified problems. 9/

Using connection circles produced by 3 breakout groups, our team developed a draft conceptual map (a Causal Loop Diagram - 'CLD') of the Jersey food system, during the workshop lunch break 🍽️👩‍💻😅and presented it to participants. 6/
March 28, 2025 at 7:21 PM
The result of this process is called a 'connection circle'. 5/

And an attempt is made to recognise the links between themes (and bits of the system), though this could definitely go further.

Good to see mention this time, in the intro, of a 'whole systems approach' and recognition of interconnectivity of risks to food security, both acute and chronic. Also good to see expanded definition of food security to include agency and sustainability as per HLPE on Food Security & Nutrition.

A reminder that the assessment is a requirement of the 2020 Agriculture Act, and must be produced every 3 years (previous one, 2021: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/62874b...)
