I recently had to explain to my mother the reason she liked speed so much when she was younger.

Right! That is why I love Jimmy Eat World's newer albums so much. Bleed American was amazing when I was 14 (and it still is!), but Surviving is the album I needed in my mid-30s. We're all a couple decades older, and the world is so vastly different.

That's the beautiful thing about music. But I do agree that dismissing newer albums by bands that have been around a long time is a huge mistake. The albums I loved at 15 are ingrained in me, and newer ones may not sound exactly like that, but that doesn't mean they aren't as good or even better.

My spouse LOVES Stardust so much. I couldn't get into it, but I only listened to it a couple times. Maybe this is my sign to give it another listen.

Which is to say, I've just downloaded this book and look forward to reading it! Hell yeah open access!
