Suddenly I don’t feel any sense of belonging. Places where I tried hard to blend in while being myself: my permanent clinical locum job, my husband’s joint venture with his partner and working in a university. In the end, I’m not considered as part of the team/ ‘family’.

What’s making me really irritable:
- having to wake up very early for the next few days for a conference I’m not prepared for
- having to sit for the board exam I’m not prepared for, AND to attend the post conference workshop
- gifts not ready

Honestly I don’t really look forward to big-group gatherings no matter how close I am to these people. It’s too draining for me 😵

Never having saba fish again

Never thought I’d get a fish bone lodged in my tonsillar crevice. The last time it happened I had to be in primary school and I was told to swallow loads of rice, and it worked. But having gone through med school and becoming a doctor, I knew I shouldn’t give into my intrusive thought.

Perhaps it’s better to post here since it’s a more private space without distant relatives’ snooping around
