Enjoyed a dinner with @vijisathy.bsky.social and Jose Bowen last night followed by his workshop based on Teaching with AI. What learned? I have a lot more to learn. Would love to know one small task you used AI for in the last week related to teaching, learning or admin work!

Put together a classroom safety and lockdown kit for my lecture hall classroom for the fall at Duke. Hoping not to ever need it but nice to know it will be there.

A definite thing that is different at Duke then at UNC (my previous institution for 26 yrs): a party for declaring your major halfway through your college journey.

I’m really enjoying and feeling spoiled by my @DukeU biology students. Each undergraduate student can use up to $70 of FLUNCH funds per semester. Students do the inviting, set up the reservation, and pay. What a treat to lunch and meet students for extended time!
