There's a bit of rhetoric (debunked, misattributed to Werner Herzog) going around that says that America, like Germany did before, has one third of our people willing to kill another third, while the final third watches on.

I love that humans are so similar, while each in our own little worlds. Several writer friends are posting their (impressive) 2024 word counts, and I’ve never once considered counting up all the words I typed out in a year. What I especially love is that both approaches get the job done. ☺️

I like the way that the IRS is giving me two ways to pay my taxes, but seems to have disposed of all of my account information in both places. And re-creating these accounts is an unnecessarily analog process. *le sigh*

Two things.
Thing one: Started reading All The King’s Men, saw some interesting choices straight out the gate and went to look up Robert Penn Warren for context. Discovered he was into close reading, meaning he wouldn’t have appreciated my search for context. Thankfully, I appreciated the irony.
