I’m hearing a number of gangs in Los Angeles have formed truces in order to accompany individuals to their immigration hearings and stop ICE from kidnapping them. This strategy works since ICE targets integrated immigrants with families because they fear them.

This Father’s Day, I’m thinking of the families torn apart by Trump’s cruel deportation policies.
Innocent kids are paying the price — simply because their dads showed up for work, were near a Home Depot, or were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I notice people calling what we’re seeing these last couple of days “riots.” I was here during the 1992 Los Angeles riots. That’s not what this is.
Local police can handle this, but ICE needs to back off—especially with these amateur hires who don’t know what the f*ck they’re doing.
