Man...fuck generative AI. I swear these companies will never learn until they get hit hard enough in the wallet. I didn't know anything about this and now I've scrubbed anything Hoyoverse from the PC. Thanks for the heads up Little Kuriboh!

Please, even if you don't CARE if genAI is used for something like this, at the very least understand that actors were striking with genuine concerns and that Mihoyo, who just last month posted job applications for opportunities to work on their games using AI, do not have their protections in mind.
Anyway here's Mihoyo promoting AI assisted game production including:
"Efficiency in Image and Material Generation
With very few materials, they can generate character model sheets + 3D models, allowing for the testing of multiple designs and their artistic outcomes."
Something to keep an eye on.

Please, even if you don't CARE if genAI is used for something like this, at the very least understand that actors were striking with genuine concerns and that Mihoyo, who just last month posted job applications for opportunities to work on their games using AI, do not have their protections in mind.
