Our first gathering was an engaging, tender affair, with both interesting discussion of the content and heart-open sharing.
You can still join the conversation!

Or- here me out- a mindfulness practice.

I mean, we could at least TRY.

Mindfulness Informed End of Life is a transformative, scholarly, heart-centred approach to dying...and it's in its last year at the University of Toronto.

I HIGHLY recommend this program.

In this moment.
And in this moment.
And in this moment.
And in this moment.

I was at the cottage last month and my own copy of Radical Mindfulness was defiled by racoons, after also destroying (and eating!) a box of chocolates. You can't really see in this image, but there are tiny claw marks on the cover and chocolately paw marks on the pages.

Last minute prep for the start of the AP Doula.
I am so proud of this offering.

My work in mindfulness + end-of-life follows in some follows the greats. Think The Tibetan Book of the Dead, the writing of Dr. James Carse, the clinical work of Dr. Michele Chaban, and now James Rowe, author of Radical Mindfulness.

The skills for deathcare are deeply human rather than technical.

What do mindfulness and end-of-life care have in common?

Both teach us how to stay rooted, to respond rather than react. These are useful skills in tumultuous times.

A mindfulness practice can bring us deeper into appreciation, gratitude.

So can a death practice.

Free workshop this Thursday!

Empathy is more than kindness or understanding—it is the felt experience of being with another, allowing their reality to touch our own. Empathy helps us connect, resolve conflict, and nurture meaningful relationships.

There is no safety, only trust.

This is an intersection of mindfulness and deathcare. Both bring us into the awareness that all we have is the present moment.

Practice kindness.

It was a pleasure to lead participants in a practice of shrouding, and to contemplate our finitude, our eventual end of days.

Yes, this is the practice.
Yes, it's political.
