I won't swap my Pathfinder 2 campaign out for it (as that would be a lot of work, mid-campaign) but would definitely try to run again when I want some of that OTT fantasy happening.

And then you can stockpile fear tokens for cool combat manouvres. I tried it without a battlemap, but everyone got confused where things were. Plus a lot of the powers make use of all the ranges: Melee, Close, Far etc. And everyone was keen to play!

I love Silent Hill. I've played most of them, even Homecoming and Downpour. This would be a direct riff, with weird dreams and cults and strange monsters and terrible revelations...Now to fit that into a single quickstart adventure...

Yeah, it does make it very clear to explain to people! I think I'll end up doing two separate adventures. The police one would be easier for a short convention game, and the second one, which will be more of a Silent Hill-style sandbox, a bit longer.

The actual RPG I'm working on is fairly expansive, so I'm thinking of doing a zine or adventure, provided I can introduce a setting, game system and adventure in a concise manner.

Yeah, you really need to tighten the modifiers severely. What did game did you run?

I agree with you, but some people just want to roll lots of dice...

Roll and add skill, although in the system a skill of +1 is good. It also means you have to limit the number of modifiers.
