My issues were severely prolapsed L5S1 & fractured pelvis & relapsed L4 in 2019.

& finally for those suffering, especially with the sciatica from severely prolapsed discs I hope you feel better soon cuz it is the worst!! The good news is it does get better and hopefully the above remedies can help. Balance moving & rest & as soon as you can start getting gentle Pilates in.

6: Epsom salt’s & magnesium salt baths
This works!! I swear by these. You can get massive bags from Homesense/TK Maxx for like £4.99
I will often do a good 20min hot soak and really let it sink into my muscles especially after an intense work/show/workout week.

to a full on whole body strength toning body shaking burn! Pilates is the number 1 for any body who’s had spinal issues & or injuries (and anyone for that matter but for the sake of this thread it’s key)

5: Pilates especially Reformer
Pilates is truly the best! When I was recovering it was the best way I was able to re balance & connect my body & regain strength in the safest way. I still do it now and it’s incredible exercise which you can vary in degrees of intensity. From gentle rehabilitation

4: Get a pelvis balancing seat
This Faeger cushion seat is excellent! I now keep it in the car and use it when I drive. Had for years and been excellent. 10/10 recommend (no I don’t work for them 😂)

3. Deep tissue massage & acupuncture
Disc issues & pain can also be caused by an imbalance in your body / can cause imbalances. Deep tissue massage helps to release tension, relax muscles & acupuncture helps to elevate this to a deeper level. This was a life saver to me when I was in the worst of it

2: Supplements
Magnesium, Collagen, Vit C & High potency Vit D all help in relaxing muscles, anti inflammatory & helping increase cell reproduction in the body

1: Heat & Ice
Bulging & prolapsed discs generally cuz inflammation in the area. Heat is good for relaxing muscles but ice is needed to calm the inflammation. I got taught 10-15mins alternate Heat to Ice technique for up to an 1hr (based on discomfort) , 10mins heat to relax,
10mins ice to calm
