People need to know how much damage balloons cause. I know kids like them and all, but they are terrible.

Peeta is an excellent cat.
Of course people want cats, I think that's what the Internet was originally for.

If the airlines treated the passengers (and the pilots, and the flight attendants) with more dignity, maybe flying would be seen as a special occasion again.

It hurts to lose our animal friends because the love is real and important. The pain comes from the love we shared. I miss my little cat so much, but I wouldn't trade a second of the time we had together, even if it lessened my grief now.

As the character Famine from Good Omens called it: "food like products" Once again, sir Terry Pratchett was able to see the world and express its problems with piercing humor.

I'd be a bit surprised to hear "piggy" from anyone over the age of about seven. Do adults in other circles actually talk like that?

The real question is: What kind of cake will I make to celebrate? There is something called a "Dump Cake" that sounds appropriate, but I'm not sure it will pair with champagne 🤔

Most adults I know who love to read were natural readers as children. I'm always looking for ways to share my joy of books with the ones who struggle at first.

BTW- I caught up by middle school and was completely fine academically. I was just a dyslexic slow starter 😜

It didn't bother me, but I was a weird kid.
As a teacher I see so many students avoid reading, claiming that reading is for the "smart people"
I also see frequent reading tests labeling students from "proficient" to "far below basic" starting in kindergarten. I know this is harmful practice

I always loved books, but I was far behind my peers when it came to phonics and fluency. I read picture books long after my classmates had moved on to chapter books. I think we need to decouple the love of reading from demonstrations of mastery. Students feel shame when they are not "at level" 😭😭😭
