As an 'abundance' liberal, I find Marie Antoinette Douthat offensive. The WH needed a new ballroom (90K sq ft) towering over the WH itself (50K sq ft)?
And how can he compare the high-handed partial demolition of a Federal historic building to a private construction?

He's not a disgusting Christofascist like Charlie Kirk at all.
And he's running against the DEM establishment.

He wants a pro-life candidate in Nebraska, where there is a 59% support for the current 12-week abortion law against further restrictions. He knows nothing about the subject but keeps pontificating.

I'm not an enemy of Klein. I share 99% of his ideas, but the 1% lacking is the foundation of everything else: the ethical clarity on where to draw the line (which is essential in politics). Here is a good analysis: degenerateart.beehiiv.com/p/you-don-t-...

Yeah. And—if effectiveness is what really counts— Goebbels too practised politics the right way. Wasn't he effective?

On Klein: he's psychologically uneasy with bullies (he suffered bullying as a child), wants to be liked and is unable to cope with them properly.

"Those who say the dynamics would be different don’t have data to support that." @ezraklein.bsky.social should bring data support, but he didn't even try. He wants to compromise on values for the sake of it — deeply disturbing, even for people ideologically close to him, like me.

For the sake of winning elections, he will push the Democratic Party into losing winnable elections.
He is asking for a pro-life candidate in Nebraska, where there is 59% support for the current 12-week abortion law against further restrictions.

Self-serving narrative.
Klein should know better (min 57):

There is much more going on here...
"This essay is the first instalment in a series on the thinkers, upstarts and ideologues battling for control of the Democratic Party."
You can read it here: archive.is/YIhKQ

And you see Nebraska as a key place again.
Osborn is pro-choice.

Klein is asking this anti-abortion turn when polls show "59% oppose further restrictions, 48% strongly oppose, and only 36% support additional bans, revealing increased support for abortion rights across both rural and urban areas and all congressional districts."

This happens while the religious right is trying to get a total ban in the state via a 2026 ballot (still not sure, as of late September). So the DEM candidate would be (in Klein's dreams) in line with the ultra-right propaganda.
