If norovirus is notoriously hard to kill (I’ve seen you need to use a bleach solution and leave it on the surface for a bit before scrubbing), how does washing your hands with soap and water help?

and (more likely) at worst, another example of the lengths to which health insurance companies will go to fatten their pocketbooks at the expense of the people shelling out $$$ for their policies.

Thankfully, this wasn't something I had to worry about. I don't care that Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield halted this new policy change. The fact that it was considered at all is at best, a sign that health insurance companies are woefully out of touch with the best interests of the people they serve,

What if a complication occurred which pushed my total time under anesthesiology past a "threshold" determined by a very much "for profit" health insurance company? What if my doctors felt under the gun to meet this "threshold" and a sloppy mistake was made?

My anesthetist was amazing. The talk we had before I went under provided me with my last measure of comfort until I woke up a short time later, thankfully with no complications. Now, I'm thinking about what it would have been like had my health insurance placed time limits on my anesthesiology care.
