If ya just don't wanna wait for a little kei truck but you like the style in a larger size.... Ford transits have a chassis cab option that a dropside work bed fits nicely on. The short wheelbase version is just a little longer than the Ford Ranger

Ford made some sweet cabovers back in the 1960's. Definitely NOT a kei truck, but they were really classy looking.

For the freeways there's the bongo trucks. The Kia K2500 Bongo3 runs on diesel or propane and has left hand drive already. Sized roughly the same as a short wheelbase F150, but has the cabover style coupled with proper crumple zones below the driver's feet similar to Chevy's W7k and W9k cabovers
