So you are saying if you are poor, you have to work extra extra hard to get into elite institutions whereas if you have rich parents, you can waltz in through legacy admission. Basically segregation by class. Got it.

Yes, because if you can't get scholarships, those opportunities are only reserved for the rich and privileged. Doesn't matter if you worked hard enough to get accepted. Not good enough. That's the natural extension of what you are arguing.

So only rich kids should go to law schools, med schools or ivy schools. If you don't come from money, forget about those. Poor ones may have a "better" chance at getting grants or scholarships but it is still not a "good" chance.
