It would suck to buy a house somewhere that later installed red light cameras.

Now you’re stuck living in a prison city.

Red light cameras are such a tacky choice.

I’m in a work-first phase of life, but sometimes it’s just been too long since I last worked.

So, I’ve got to mess up my morning and do it.

I've started using an iOS app that was acquired for $$$.

I've encountered several imperfections. Typos and nonsensical user experience.

I've since loosened up my own perfectionist tendencies as I build an iOS app.

Remember, someone got rich off an app that wasn't a new idea and lacked polish.

My usual rule for accurately estimating how long it'll take to finish something is 3x what I expect.

With software development, it's more than 10x sometimes.

First iOS app submitted.

Talent stack getting taller.

TRIP REPORT: Caffeine after 2 years caffeine free.

I accidentally drank 1/3 of a Coke Zero earlier this week. (I'm very sensitive to caffeine)

It reminded me why I quit.

Anxious. Apologetic. Forced. Restless.

It's such a subservient drug.

Gross. No desire to do that again.

Classic health journalism malpractice with a false, engagement bait headline.

Orthorexia is not new.

The term was coined in 1997, and the behavior long predated that, of course.

It probably shouldn't matter, but in case you didn't know, you'll probably never get any reward money for helping law enforcement solve a case.
Tips have led to rewards in only 1 percent of Philly homicide cases, officials say
Since 2017, Philadelphia has paid out $560,000 in rewards in 29 homicide cases. That's 1% of total homicides in that time. NBC10 investigative reporter Claudia Vargas takes a look at why there are such few rewards-- even when Philly has one of the most generous programs with a $20k offering.

I’ve made countless decisions I’d change if I could go back in time.

Most don’t bother me.

There’s only one that haunts me.

Don’t turn down huge opportunities for frivolous reasons.

Other than that, it's ok to live and learn.

ChatGPT voice mode makes the time fly on solo long drives.

We discussed taxes for over 2 hours on a drive this week.

Very informative. Although, as always, I get more out of AI when it comes to things I know.

For example, it wouldn’t have mentioned QSBS stacking unless I brought it up myself.

ChatGPT-5.1 ruined my cycling plans by telling me to purchase the wrong hardware configuration for my roof rack.

LLMs still confidently give incorrect or incomplete answers when I ask medical quesions.

AI will be great assistant for doctors, but it's far from replacing us.

My information diet has a weird anti-AI movement blind spot.

Occasionally, I get a glimpse and am reminded that a lot of people would prefer AI be banned.

Anecdotally, I suspect rigorous athletic training interferes with "what it takes" to excel at self-directed pursuits like building a company as a solo founder.

Why are chat support agents usually unable to pass along the information I’ve already provided about my problem to the human who takes over?

Well, that’s by design. Companies want the first level of support to be a quick and dirty sorting mechanism.

They don’t want the initial chat on the record.

Is this lawsuit engagement bait?

Your robot is too fragile if it suffered “irreparable damage” from a guy play fighting as if it were someone else's toddler.

Watch the video below to decide for yourself.
Creator IShowSpeed sued for allegedly punching, choking viral humanoid Rizzbot | TechCrunch
The lawsuit alleged that — and the livestream video shows that — Speed repeatedly punched Rizzbot in the face, put it in a chokehold, at one point pinned it to the couch, and threw it to the ground.

It'll be fun to see what kids come up with to get around this.
Millions of Australian teens lose access to social media accounts as ban takes effect - live updates
They will not be able to set up new accounts and existing profiles must be deactivated - while companies could face fines for not complying.

The solo software developer hivemind has loosened its taboo around "copying" apps lately.

Devs are starting from apps proven to make money rather than inventing something new.

Calorie trackers, habit trackers, quitting apps, etc.

It's a smart strategy. With caveats, of course.

For the “AI will replace doctors within 10 years” crowd, a friendly challenge:

Follow a few different kinds of doctors around for a day and provide an explanation of how every one of their many actions will be completely replaced.

(I don’t think people consider all of the things doctors do.)
