He made a reasonable offer to extend the credits for a year and let Republicans run on ending them next year. I don't know if he gave tacit approval for the unconditional surrender, but the Dems need a more ruthless leader.

No. The Luftwaffe had no heavy bombers worth shit. The He-177 was never properly developed and the two engine He-111 was a sitting duck beyond the short range cover of the Bf,-109. The Battle of Britain was a failure of equipment, not strategy.

and the Soviets had some fine aircraft that matched up well with German machines. But German emphasis on training and initiative as per Goering was decisive.

Goering was an experienced officer and a first war Ace pilot. While he was a vainglorious NAZI version of Liberace, his outgunned Luftwaffe extracted a terrible toll on Allied forces in the west and dominated the Red Air Force.

There are no parallels to Hegseth in the Third Reich. While Hitler tolerated some incompetent loyalists, he never entrusted them with high positions in his military machine.
