I mean, the Hardsuit version had you as a clanless Thinblood, the worst vampires in VtM, then wrote new mechanics for them to make them vaguely interesting.
Much more fun to play as a Clan elder (though Chinese Room kinda botched that).

I think many games attempt to solve one of those problems so that play focuses on that area. The other areas are neglected to pull focus away.

Also, rules for players should not be in GM books. They might as well not exist at that point because they all become optional.

This means that a player can usually figure out and not be frustrated with something easy like a percentile roll, but a reroll or exploding die or multi-die roll is going to be tough on them.
