It had been too long between river outings, so a visit to Cincinnati by my counterpart grandfather (is that the proper term?) provided the perfect opportunity. I snapped a quick photo of Jeorg Zuend and our grandson, Luca, as the Little Miami tried its best to spin me around.

Enjoyed Mason Community Players' "Pirates of Penzance." The wrinkle (I guess every production has to have one) is that the pirates were zombies. Made little discernible difference except to the makeup crew.

Surely the Enquirer wouldn't botch the name of the orthopaedic surgeon who repaired a Reds outfielder's broken arm, right?

Heaven help us.

I remember when the Blackburns were going to save Mike Brown from his tone deafness.

Opening Day, also known as the one time each year Barry Larkin is actually engaged with what's happening on the field.

Shouldn't we be able to presume your reviews are honest?

This whole Frisch's / Big Boy thing would have gone down a lot easier if they had just announced the plan in the beginning. The way it developed was, as the kids say, suss.

Bad flashback with William & Mary as the correct response on a Jeopardy Daily Double tonight.

Interesting that UC prez shrugs off the restroom signs as an "error." Having worked there, I know that nothing happens/gets OK'd without being prayed over at multiple levels.

Our Enquirer carrier has elite skills.

God forbid that news break out during any local pro sports team's free rollout of new dishes on the menu.

From @usatoday.com: "Some vehicles even have a night setting in their rear view mirror. Drivers who have a lever under their mirror can pull it toward them to activate it."

That's been the case as long as I can remember, and that's a very long time.

As I was about to enter a roundabout, a car with Confederate (for show) plates sailed past, followed by a Cybertruck. #dailydouble

One good thing about Cincinnati Enquirer e-edition (facsimile of print product): Because they don't (or can't) go back into it to correct errors, it provides a way to see the original goof if the subsequent correction is ... hazy.

Never change, Cincinnati.

Given the club's ownership, kinda feel like it already had what it needed.

Another snowy/icy walk but with newly arrived crampons. Big difference!

An icy group walk on Wasson Way. Some participants felt it should have been cleared. (By the city? Ha!) I'm Switzerland re that. Something to be said for keeping it natural.

Every time it snows, I vow to hunker down inside. And every time, a pressing need to go out arises.

Go ahead and show up for #ACompleteUnknown at the stated start time, I said. The previews will be bearable because they'll be tailored to the audience, I said. Oh, hello, Captain America and Incredible Hulk!
January 4, 2025 at 7:33 PM
Howcum there's no "A Complete Unknown" singalong?
January 3, 2025 at 3:26 PM
Another Little Miami experience (between Camp Dennison and Miamiville).
