17/29 in Ashurst, New Forest, this morning #teammoth, but the most unexpected catch in the MV was this huge diving beetle Dytiscus; superficially most like D dimidiatus (King Diving Beetle) but this isn't recorded in the area, so ?? marginalis. Any thoughts from #beetle enthusiasts welcome

After 2 weeks away on holiday it is difficult to resist posting a Merveille du Jour on my return to Ashurst, New Forest, but Musotima nitidalis is arguably just as beautiful! A late Aproaerema anthylidella also good to see #teammoth

Obsidentify says 'C rufana' 100%, but I think this is Celypha rosaceana, nfg, in Ashurst, New Forest - views welcome! I'm hopeless on leaf mines, so assistance welcome on this sycamore leaf: Obsidentify says it is fungal (Sycamore Tarspot), but I wondered about Phyllonorycter geniculella #teammoth

I've only had a few Tree-lichen Beauty's previously in Ashurst, New Forest, so the one this morning was nice to see. Also Plumed Fanfoot but that was disturbed by another moth just as I was about to take the picture #teammoth

Grass Emerald was a notable absentee from the garden list in Ashurst, New Forest - until today. Also Musotima nitidalis (Australiasian native, now well established in the #NewForest) but it flew off in the dining room before I could photograph it & yet to be relocated.. #teammoth

Dingy Mocha is a Red Data Book & Biodiversity Action Plan specialty of Hants/Dorset: when I caught my first one since starting trapping 1990 in the garden in Ashurst, New Forest in April I thought it was just a wanderer, but a second one today encourages me that it is now established here #teammoth

Anania verbascalis was a nice nfy in Ashurst, New Forest this morning, plus difficult to resist posting pictures of Large Emerald & Light Crimson Underwing. 3 Small Mottled Willows were also my first for the year. #teammoth #migrantmoths

Brown Scallop is 'largely absent' from the New Forest, so this was a welcome nfg this morning, even though it took a bit of time to realise what it was! #teammoth

Over 400 moths of 119 species in Ashurst, New Forest this morning. 3 nfg, taking me over 1000 species for the garden, the best being Zelleria oleastrella (7th for Hampshire), alongside Lyonetia prunifoliella & Bucculatrix frangutella #teammoth #migrantmothuk
