Just watched a German test of oat milks, tested on taste, ingredients and price. Two experts tasted them and gave their opinions. A bit of a surprise but Lidl's Vemondo came out on top. It wasn't the best tasting but had the best ingredients and was the cheapest. It beat Alpro and Oatly.

If you live in the south west of England, you could consider visiting 1685 by Chris Chatfield at the Colcombe Castle Hotel in Colyton, Devon. 3 course set lunch menu at £32.50 with stunning presentation and very well crafted dishes. Would definitely be on my list. youtu.be/9ezEe0IheZk?...

If you like Lebanese food and find yourself around the Elephant and Castle area of London, you should definitely check out this place. It's a restaurant for the community and Gary quite rightly called the owner a Food Hero. Incredible value for money and great food. youtu.be/HWAve5dtXCw?...

If you are visiting Vienna, I highly recommend a visit to Trzesniewski. The most famous branch is a couple of minutes walk from the Stephansdom, They sell pre-made open sandwiches of which there are over 20 varieties and they are all the same price. #Vienna #Wien

Proof positive that awards don't mean quality. Voted the best restaurant in London in 2025 and given a 5/10 by Gary and a month earlier 2.5/10 by Hannah Ricketts, Happy does not seem worth visiting. youtu.be/JBPi1QKqSvs?...

Well, that's news to me. Apparently barns getting cleaner caused problems when creating the holes in Emmental cheese. Hay particles in the milk used were necessary so hay flower powder is being added now. youtu.be/H11hVuZrfvg?...

I highly recommend Jamie Oliver's Mega Med Grains, either as a side dish or a light lunch. Well seasoned to start with but I added a twist or three of pepper. www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/produ...

Interesting article. Animal bones possibly dating as far back as the 16th Century have been found near Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh. There was a large gorse fire back in August which must have cleared the ground. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

In 2003 the BBC broadcast a 4-part series presented by Michael Wood entitled In Search of Shakespeare. If you have not seen it, it is well worth a watch. Several members of the RSC featured too. I found it on YouTube #BBCShakespeare www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6qW...

Bluesky has only a 1.4 out of 5.0 rating on the Google Play Store. I find it buggy on my phone, hence the reason I removed it, but logging in via a browser seems to work much better. It's far from perfect but at least it's not the other site.
