Séamus is willing to let me keep going to conferences, but there are strict conditions.

Thank you @hayleybrabazon.bsky.social and @nwavc2025.bsky.social for hosting Séamus for his first academic conference! Such a lovely bunch of people and some really interesting papers too! 😊

Took the baby to see an art installation in East London.

His face is very, "you call this art??"

I had a serious chat with the baby yesterday and told him if I can't get on with things then he'll have to go to nursery.

Last night, he slept through for the first time ever, and then today he's had a big two hour nap and accepted his other mother giving him a bottle of pumped milk.

Hooray!

I'm attempting a gradual return to my PhD. Séamus isn't pleased.

I know 🫠 He's cute though

It's a lovely misty Lancashire morning.

I am in my pajamas pushing a buggy through several fields because I accidentally went on a solo trip with the baby at the exact same time as he entered a violent sleep regression.

Hoping I'm going to fall down a disused mine or something so I can rest.

Took the baby to visit a castle today. Apparently my commentary wasn't up to scratch.

Five years today since this low point in my career as a nanny. "The men" were barmen/ waiters. Obviously.

Revisiting photos from my first ever trip to Belfast. What a funny place to fall in love with...

Séamus got very pissed off that none of the oral historians on the zoom call were speaking directly to him, so he went to read his book instead.

I don't understand how taxidermy isn't number one on the list and also how magic tricks are on the list at all because magic tricks are sexy AF

Took wee baby Séamus to an animal sanctuary today and it blew his goddamn mind 😎

Hello new followers! I used to post about oral history and folklore and travel and other interesting things but lately I just post photos of my baby.

I'd also like to confess that sometimes when I go to the loo I make my partner hold the baby over my lap while I pee so he doesn't miss me.

Utterly ridiculous. When he's awake I want him asleep and then when he's asleep I want him awake. There are so many things I'm supposed to be doing but I've turned into a human pillow and I'm so okay with it.

Reaching peak Essex, my local Tesco has this little crochet soldier atop its postbox. Not sure why he's shooting himself in the head.

I've spent the entire week trying to engage my brain to write a 300 word abstract and today I somehow wrote the whole thing in 20 minutes while the baby was taken out for a walk.

He's very distracting.
