On Saturday, December 13, in front of the Apple store in downtown Portland, 45 protesters demanded the return of the ICEBlock app. The singing highlighted a serious message wrapped inside traditional holiday songs. The protest was covered by The Oregonian. The protest continues. mobilize.us/s/jpCNYe

I couldn't say it better: "I just loved it. We were so clearly all in it together. The signholders, the drivers, the bicyclists and pedestrians-all so responsive and supportive. My sign said United We Stand. This event fully played out in that spirit. Thank you. I appreciate your efforts deeply."

Our courageous crew took to the streets today and braved a little bit of weather to demonstrate again our opposition to this horrendous regime and provide a visible sign to others that they are not alone.

I am so proud of each and every one of them.

I read this quote from David Byrne which I quite liked, "I’ve found that not every collaboration works, but often when they do, it’s because I’m able to clearly impart what it is I’m trying to do. They hopefully get that, and as a result, we’re now joined together heading to the same unknown place.”

Another wonderful day on the bridge, getting lots of friendly honks and the infrequent finger. :-) Our message was: Vote Out the GOP & Trump Cruelty. It was so energizing, so fun & the weather could not have been better.

Another beautiful Sunday to show up for democracy.

If you haven't gone to a honk & wave, sign up for one in your neighborhood and I guarantee you will have one of the best hours of your week.

NYT wrote about last night's elections, "The results showed that Democrats — beaten soundly in all seven presidential battleground states just a year ago, losing control of the Senate and failing to win the House — can still accomplish the most important goal in politics: They can win. And win big.”

"Buskirk helms the Rockbridge Network, a secretive organization that is one of the most influential forces in GOP politics. The super PAC identified several million low-propensity voters in seven swing states. Rockbridge’s 3,000 canvassers turned out 50 percent."

Chris Buskirk put tech elites in power in Trump’s Washington. His efforts are grounded in a controversial theory: An “aristocracy” is needed to move the country forward.

Read this article.

"Nietzsche created a concept, ressentiment, that can help us understand this political moment. It describes a deep-seated anger beyond transitory gripes: a feeling that combines insecurity, an amorphous envy, and a generalized sense of resentment."

Our weekly honk & wave had a mom introducing her son to protesting, three people who lived in nearby apartments who heard the commotion and came out to join us, and the return of both the bubble machine and the amazing umbrella.

For a good time, join us!! Sunday, Noon, at NE Fremont & N Williams.

Trump told reporters: “The courts wouldn’t get involved. Nobody would get involved. And I could send the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines. I could send anybody I wanted.”

People say, look at what he does, not at what he says. I say - look at what he says, that will be what he does.

HEY GOP: NO HEALTHCARE, NO DEAL!

The weather cooperated, the atmosphere was positive and supportive, the music kept everyone moving, and the turnout was great!

I enjoyed meeting folks new to our Sunday event & reconnecting with our hard-core troupers.
