It was a long fight, but Network Rail this afternoon confirmed the lifts at Tilehurst Station we campaigned for are finally open for public use!
The station should now be fully accessible.

Great news! Reading buses have announced:
* More peak hours buses on the Purple 17 and new all-electric buses shortly.
* Improved frequency on the Buzz 18 which will become a half-hourly service

Leaflets have been dropped to addresses on Armour Road (evens), Polsted Road, Lower Armour Road, Swansea Terrace, Swansea Cottages and Andover Close.

I noted a small/deep depression in the footpath on Norcot Rd by a recently installed water meter.
I reported it and this morning
Thames Water were investigating.

The road sections marked in red will be resurfaced today on Armour Rd/tomorrow for the remainder.

Norcot Rd (north) is being re-surfaced this week.

@reading-buses.co.uk please be aware that some helpful person has ripped the notices off the Romany Lane outbound shelter regarding the closure from 27th.

The Romany Ln bus stop on Norcot Road (outbound) will be out of use from 27/2/25-11/3/25. Passengers should use the Lawrence Rd stop instead - marked on the map with a purple hexagon).

SSE works in the area will be controlled by 2-way traffic lights. Delays are likely.

A date for resurfacing the stretch of Norcot Road between the junctions of School Road and Sona Gardens has been set: it is due to take place on 3rd/4th March 8 am - 8 pm. The road will be closed during these times. Residents in the affected area are receiving letters.

Minor non-excavation works to the comms mast on Norcot Rd (by the junction with Romany Ln) are taking place overnight from 9pm. Traffic will be controlled by multi-way signals. Expect some minor delays. Works should be completed by 6am tomorrow.

Thames Water will work on Oxford Road outside Tilehurst Station to rebuild a fire hydrant chamber between tomorrow (28th) and Thursday (30th). Multi-way signals will control work and some delays can be expected.

Openreach will be working tomorrow on manholes to remove silt and clean ducts. This will require the closure of one side of the road near the telephone exchange, with two-way lights to allow safe access between 0930 and 1530. Short delays can be expected during these hours.

Between 0930 and 1530 today, Openreach will work on telegraph poles on Kentwood Hill, near number 74. To provide a safe working area, they will be closing one side of the road around the works, which temporary traffic lights will control. Minor delays are possible.
