It would be more informative if the income factor was teased out; suspect many red states have a lower income and as a consequence have a higher death rate. Consider making a 3D graph where the 3rd dimension is income; or make multiple 2D plots where everyone displayed is in the same income bracket.

I like the higher quality of BlueSky.
Re: Musk &the Orange Menace, I am reminded of the guardrails they’re trying to remove:

Power corrupts- it almost like clockwork; How will the corruption be exposed except by a free press?
Once exposed, how will it be corrected other than a democratic process?

Sorry, confused….Isn’t this graph influenced by more populous states?

wouldn’t death rate per state’s capita be more informative?

and what does it mean if red states are around 140% of the total?

Peter, thanks for posting. The Dems need a better response to Ezra Klein’s and Dr Dunkelman’s criticisms:

A downside to x-rays is the normal tissue tolerance levels, i.e., zapping a tumor w/ x-rays involves entrance and exit doses to the normal tissues surrounding the tumor area, and this often limits the amount of dose that can be delivered to the tumor. Hence I am wondering if PM fields might help.

Thx for your 1st comment. A pulsed mag field can be applied directly to a tumor, similar to X-rays commonly used in radiation therapy. A downside of chemotherapy is it often lacks localization in the cancerous area and tends to diffuse throughout the body, often exacerbating unwanted side effects.

I should add the effect is “non-thermal,” so surrounding areas are not significantly denatured, supposedly.

Is there a way to permanently thwart a DNA replication fork? I am wondering if a pulsed magnetic field group stumbled across this back in the 1980s.

Thx for posting Peter; I’m formerly @JohnAshburn18 &followed you closely on X. Wondering if I can interest someone you know in having high school debate competitions about climate change &appropriate regs needed; will hopefully convert hardened GOP parents, e.g., the conversion of Rep Bob Inglis.
