Made this meme in honor of Christmas and reaching the 100 episode mark of Sailor Moon

Happy Holidays everyone.

— her in Sailor Moon R, but maybe there’s more to her in the seasons/series to come.

With all that being said, I think I’ll give this season a B-.

It’s not a bad season and there are some good episodes for the other guardians, which I think is its biggest —

— Sailor Pluto voiced by the untouchable Veronica Taylor She does well in giving Pluto a motherly aura befitting of Chibiusa’s caretaker while still sounding like someone with the authority to watch over something as important as time itself. I wish we could have gotten more of —

The Black Lady portion of the story was a bit of an upset for me, because I felt like her turn to the dark side was a bit too brief. And —

Of course, we can’t talk about this arc without talking about its most important new character. Chibiusa is one of those characters you will either —

Now onto the Black Moon arc. There was some genuinely good drama in this arc, particularly with the relationship between Usagi and Mamoru. Initially, I thought that some of what they went through was pointlessly dragging things out, but once the final part of —

I’ll say that Ail and Ann are characters I enjoyed for the time we had them, but they were such a small group that had little —

That wasn’t the case for me who watched it in English, where Fiore was voiced by the talented @bendiskin.bsky.social who does a fantastic job (as he likewise does with Umino). He brings a sincereness to the role —

Right off the bat, WOW visually this movie is such a step up from the show for a number of reasons outside of the obvious time put into its production versus a typical episode. I’m not 100% certain about this, but I have a feeling that the masters for the movies at —

Well, I’m still partway through Sailor Moon R, however, since I’m going in as close to release order as possible, I’ll be stopping at episode 75 and watching the movie that released just after it (On my (and Jupiter’s) birthday back in 1993 funnily enough.) —

The English dub done by Viz Media is among some of the best work I’ve heard in anime. Every actor clearly cared about this show as well as the script writers and it shows. The script is sharp, with witty dialogue, and makes —

Final thoughts on Sailor Moon S1 (🧵)
December 10, 2024 at 2:09 AM
And I’ve officially finished the first season of Sailor Moon! I’ll be posting my full-ish thoughts on the season sometime tonight and then we’ll be on to Sailor Moon R!

Minako is another good addition to the team, balancing her responsibility while still enjoying her life as a teen. Her backstory was tragic, but I wish we had a bit more time with her before the S1 finale to get a better feel for her character. Cherami is killing it as her tho.

Finally met Sailor Jupiter (Just in time for her (and my) b-day) and she’s all I hoped she would be. A tough girl with a soft side who can body slam anyone. Amanda/Bennett also kills it as Makoto. I can’t wait to watch her kick more ass as the series goes on. She’s No. 1.
December 6, 2024 at 6:09 AM
Rei is easily my favorite of the guardians thus far. She’s headstrong but has her softer side, which fleshes her out a lot and her dynamic with Usagi is great. She’s also the most competent character, seeing as she immediately figured out Mamoru is Tuxedo Mask. Tough competition.
December 5, 2024 at 1:08 AM
Ami’s a good character to have in the show. She’s the most reserved of them thus far and I’m glad they don’t make her the obnoxious type of smart person. It’s been good watching her come out of her shell thanks to Usagi and I hope to see more of her character as time goes on.
