About 35 years ago when the Apple Newton came out, I was thinking there should be a term for devices like it in general (eventually the industry called them Personal Digital Assistant). My idea, before “PDA“ was adopted, was Personal Electronic Notebook & Information Store. Easy abbreviation to say.

Prior to that there had been a thread posing the question of what type of sim one wanted to see. When I suggested something not modern, thinking 1950s, consensus emerged of 1967 being best, for the fastest non-winged cars. It may have influenced the creation of GPL!

I remember it well. After Sierra bought Papyrus, they did an article on them in Sierra InterAction magazine, in which was a photo of Randy Cassidy. Behind him, if one looked closely, was a drawing of goggle-wearing driver head. I pointed it out on r.a.s and the announcement came quickly thereafter.
