What is it with the Republicans and fucking bathrooms? Back in the '70s when we were discussing ERA (Equal Rights Amendment) to the Constitution, the Republicans kept bringing up that meant we would have to share bathrooms. Time for them to let this go already.

You are absolutely correct. The political parties have to evolve into something new and better, or this whole fiasco will have been in vain. The young guns of the Democratic party have to rise up and make major changes to move forward. Nothing is going to look the same, in my opinion.
