Whatever personal feelings ppl have about vavra he’s objectively right here. We aren’t sliding down a slope, we’ve been at the bottom of the slope for years already. To get funding for a game or any SaaS product, ai needs be a part of the pitch to investors or they invest in someone else now.

Ok using you’re examples e33, and Arc, both just won awards voted on from game journos despite their ai use, so it doesn’t seem like there’s any repercussions even with the people who claim to care about this issue. It makes the criticism tough to take seriously

Do we even know what model larian is using? It could be trained on all their own internal content. The outage seems more pointed at what people think ai tools are rather than what the reality larian is probably using. They could be running something open source and locally for all we know

What jobs I guess qualifies as menial tasks tho? Farm equipment, dishwashers, washing machine etc have all replaced careers and most would argue for the betterment of society. It seems consumers reject art/writing made by ai so until they don’t, why mourn the busy work it replaces?

You would have a point if they were replacing employees with it but they describe it being used for menial tasks like place holder texts, which is the exact type of work tech like this should be used for. It frees up employees to work on meaningful tasks

Open ai just 800 million weekly users, and Arc won multiplayer game of the year… If divinity is good it won’t matter at all, there’s more than enough consumers that aren’t bothered by it

We can have this, it would just need to be a totally isolated track and completely new infrastructure and is why it doesn’t happen. Trains can’t go that fast on tracks on the east coast unless you accepts turning a few cars of people into confetti ever year when they ignore the crossing signs.
